Behind the Scenes Preparations for Artfest 2010

The Art League is a local nonprofit organization that hosts monthly juried exhibitions, as well as operates a school with over 2000 students per term. The Art League is proud to host ArtFest tomorrow evening. You don't want to miss this event. ArtFest is the annual holiday party and lively open house that includes 2D/3D exhibits such as photography and jewelry, artist demonstrations, and a handmade ceramics sale. There will also be live music by Rew Smith Band, food, and drinks. Admission is FREE!

ArtFest will be held at Art League’s annex building located at 305 Madison Street in Alexandria, VA. The event will Friday, December 3 from 6-9 p.m. Art League’s Director of Communications, Erica Fortwengler, showed me around behind the scenes to see preparations for the big event today (check out the photos). ArtFest attracted hundreds of people last year; Fortwengler remembers there being a pretty jam packed crowd last year and the same is expected again for tomorrow night.

If you miss Friday, you can still have other opportunities this weekend to visit the Ceramic and Pottery Show and Sale, as well as the Jewelry Show and Sale.
