Mount Vernon Trail Partial Detour Extended to Dec. 1

From Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project:

Due to continued wet weather, the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project will be extending the temporary detour of a small portion of the Mount Vernon Trail in Old Town Alexandria for park construction and the placement of asphalt.  The trail section that runs under the Woodrow Wilson Bridge at Royal Street now will be closed until about December 1.  Trail users will be detoured east to cross below the bridge, then west to rejoin the trail.  Detour signs will be posted in the area.

Please use caution when using this part of the trail. All construction-related work and dates are subject to change, depending on weather, material and contractor availability or other unforeseen conditions.
