Scott Frederick: Automated Insights, Inc

Scott Frederick is the Chief Operating Officer of Automated Insights, Inc., a revolutionary new technology company that transforms raw data into surprisingly compelling narrative content, visual displays and interactive applications. Prior to joining Automated Insights, Scott was a venture capitalist, most recently co-founding Valhalla Partners, a company that has over $400 million under management. Scott was also a partner at FBR Technology Group, where he played a key role in the creation and management of one of the Mid-Atlantic’s most prolic venture groups. We spoke to Scott about Automated Insights, his past ventures and what his plans are for the future.

OLD TOWN MANASSAS DEBUTS FOUR ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) CHARGING STATIONS

The City of Manassas Public Works and Utilities department recently unveiled the new ChargePoint America Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations in Old Town Manassas, Va. In efforts to be environmentally friendly and cost-effective the department has proactively researched alternative energy options for customers. More than 100 Chargepoint America EV charging stations are installed throughout Virginia, Maryland and Washington, while more than 50 areas in the United States also contain the stations. WELLINGTON ROAD in MANASSAS, Va. NOW OPEN with FOUR LANES; MANASSAS MAYOR HAL PARRISH CUTS RIBBON

The City of Manassas Department of Public Works and Utilities officially completed the Wellington Road Widening Project, between Godwin Drive and Nokesville Road in Manassas, Va. with Manassas Mayor Hal Parrish and city council members cutting the ribbon to open the road. Fairfax Connector Implements Changes on Ten Routes

From Fairfax County Department of Transportation:

Effective Saturday, January 14, 2012, Fairfax Connector will modify 10 routes to better serve passenger needs and improve the on-time performance of existing routes. The affected routes include: 101, 171, 304, 305, 306, 333, 334, 335, 623 and 652.

Following is a summary of the changes:

Routes 101 and 171

•               Minor adjustment of departure times to improve on-time performance.

Route 304

•               Schedule adjustments to improve on-time performance.

Route 305

DASH Makes City of Alexandria’s Ten Environmental Achievements of 2011

Alexandria, VA – On January 4, 2012, the City of Alexandria’s Department of Transportation & Environmental Services (T&ES), Office of Environmental Quality (OEQ) announced the top environmental achievements for 2011.  DASH was included in the top ten list for its purchase of ten-new low-floor hybrid DASH buses and five-new low-floor hybrid trolleys.
