Were You Able to Find Your Correct Polling Location? Election Day Update

The Virginia State Board of Elections 1:00 p.m. election day briefing stated that there have been some issues regarding voters going to the incorrect polling location in Fairfax County, for example in Rose Hill. According to the election day breifing, "from the calls the State of Elections is receiving, it appears voters directly affected by redistrciting mostly know their polling place has changed." If you are still unsure of your exact polling location you can use the Google Gadget at www.sbe.virginia.gov and type in your address to get the polling location as well as directions to the new polling location.

Everyday Life: 'Free' Parking???!!!

On a weekday a fortnight ago, as I went to return and pick up books at Burke Library, I encountered for the first time after many years, a security guard. Since the parking lot was full, I had pulled up to the curb where he was standing for a quick in and out. Nothing I had not done many times before. He "greeted" me by quizzing me on my intended destination and threatening to tow my car. As a longtime patron of the facility, I was shocked and offended.
