Washington Animal Rescue League - Every Dog Deserve

This story comes to us from Dana Metz:

On Tuesday, June 28 the Washington Animal Rescue League will receive a donation of 10,000 pounds of dog food from Pedigree as part of The

Every Dog Deserves program, in an effort to help feed dogs who need it most – those in shelters – and provide them the leading nutrition they

deserve, while they wait to find their forever homes.

IMPORTANTLY, This shelter is not using the donation to feed their own dogs. Since D.C. has been hit hard by the recession and many low-income residents have to choose between feeding themselves and their “beloved companions”, the Washington Animal Rescue League is sending this large donation to their Pet Food Bank where residents in need can get dog food free of cost.

This 10,000 lb donation can feed 250 medium sized dogs every day for a month. There are 100 dogs at their shelter at any given time and the Washington Animal Rescue League adopts out 900 dogs each year.

Call to action:

Help us spread the word to increase donations and make it to our goal of donating 100,000 pounds of food -- For every person who

Logs onto Twitter (@PedigreeUS) or Facebook (Facebook.com/pedigree) this month and tells Pedigree what Every Dog Deserves, a pound of food will be donated to shelter dogs.
