This Week's Super NOVA Shares Spring Fashion Tips

This week’s Super NOVA is Stefanie Ball, who at age 23 is the Public Relations and Marketing Director for the up and coming clothing line Union of Angels by Cynthia Bapst, a model, and a host of Style in the City, a show about style and lifestyle in the nation’s capital. Ball, who is originally from the DC area, studied Pubic Relations at George Mason University and is currently a resident of Alexandria.

Ball works most of the week from home, but makes weekly trips to the Union of Angel’s design studio in Warrenton, VA.  She also spends a fare amount of time traveling around the country for different fashion shows. Yesterday, Ball worked on editing footage from Miami Fashion Week with videographer Jonathan Austin. Her next trip is for Nashville Fashion Week in two weeks from now.

“I think DC is becoming a lot of relevant in the fashion world than it used to be. I think there are a lot of underground and up and coming designers that are coming forth and I think there are a lot of great fashion shows that are being put on that are getting a lot more publicity,” said Ball.

As far as Ball’s personal fashion taste, she claims she is always wearing something different; one day she will have a Rolling Stones t-shirt and black skinny jeans with holes in them and the next day she will be wearing an equestrian jacket. Her fashion icon is Angelina Jolie. Ball likes Jolie for being classic, elegant and the fact that she never goes overboard with her outfits. “Sometimes being more simple is more beautiful,” said Ball.

Ball didn’t always know she was going to get into fashion; she thinks it was just a domino effect with each new venture opening doors and connections to the next. She hopes someday to open her own PR firm, and she would love to get into more hosting and broadcasting. Ball thinks living in New York City is next on her agenda, but knows she will always return to her hometown of Washington D.C. to her family and friends.
