Man wanted in connection with Alexandria double shooting


ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- A waldorf man is wanted in connection with a double shooting in Alexandria that happened on Nov. 18th, according to Fairfax County police.

Andre Curtis Wilkins, 21, is wanted for malicious wounding. Wilkins is described by police as a black male, approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall and around 170 pounds. Police say Wilkins had long hair in dreadlocks and a slight mustache and beard, but he has since shaved off the dreadlocks.

The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. in an apartment located in the 7900 block of Audubon Avenue in the Mouint Verno area.

Man wanted for rape and abduction in Alexandria hotel room


ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man is wanted after police say he abducted and raped a woman in a hotel room in Alexandria on Nov. 16th.

The suspect is described by police as a black male, 6'0" to 6'1", 180 to 220 lbs.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., police say a 23-year-old woman let a man into her hotel room located in the 2700 block of Eisenhower Avenue. Police say the woman had met the man online.

Police say the suspect brandished a gun and raped the victim and forced her to leave Alexandria with him. It is possible the victim was also assaulted in another jurisdiction.

Photo released in fatal Alexandria hit and run


ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Police released a photo of what is believed to be the suspect vehicle in a fatal hit and run crash that happened on November 1.

The crash happened in the 5600 block of Franconia Road, Fairfax County police said. The victim killed in the crash was identified as Zahoor Ali Khan, 69, of the Alexdandria area.

2 men shot in Alexandria


ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Two men were shot in Alexandria Wednesday night, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. in the 7900 block of Audubon Avenue in the Mouint Verno area.

Police say officers are looking for possible Hispanic males with dread locks and armed with a pistol.

Both men were transported to a local hospital. Police say one man is in critical condition.

Water main break closes road in Alexandria


AELXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- The 3900 block of Usher Ave is closed Tuesday morning due to a water main break, Alexandria police reports.

Police ask drivers to use a different route.

2 wanted in armed robbery of Alexandria convenience store


ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- Two suspects involved in an armed robbery at an Alexandria convenience store are being sought, Alexandria police said.

The robbery happened in the unit block of Jordan St., according to authorities. Nobody was injured in the incident.

Residents should expect some police activity in the area. Alexandria police requested a helicopter from another department to help look for the suspects.

Body found in Alexandria park identified


ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- The man found dead in an Alexandria park was identified Tuesday.

The man has been identified as Jose Luis Ferman Perez, 24, of Alexandria, according to police.

Perez was found at Beverly Park at the intersection of S and N Overlook Drives at approximately 8 a.m.

Neighbors told WUSA9's Peggy Fox that a dog walker called 911 after her dogs found the body of a male in the park. They said the man appeared to have his throat slit.

No further details have been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
