TJHSST Application Deadline is October 21 | News
From Fairfax County Park Authority:The deadline for submitting applications to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) for the 2012-13 freshman class is Friday, October 21. The applications should be turned in to the designated TJHSST liaison counselor at the student’s middle school or to the Thomas Jefferson Admissions Office if the student’s school does not have a liaison counselor. There are no exceptions to the application deadline. Applications postmarked on the deadline day will not be accepted. Eighth grade students are eligible to apply to the freshman class at TJHSST if, at the time of application, they live with a parent or legal guardian who resides full time in, and meets the residency requirements of, one of the Northern Virginia school divisions that participate in TJHSST. Those participating school divisions currently are: the counties of Fairfax, Arlington, Fauquier, Loudoun, and Prince William, and the City of Falls Church. Students must be enrolled in Algebra 1 or a higher level mathematics course in grade 8 to be eligible to apply to TJHSST. Additional information regarding the TJHSST admissions process is available at www.TJAdmissions.org. Applications are available at all public middle schools in participating school districts and at many private schools. At each public middle school, the TJ liaison counselor has applications, brochures, and newsletters about the admissions process. Students who do not attend a public middle school may obtain an application at the Thomas Jefferson Admissions Office, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Thomas Jefferson Admissions Office is located at the Gatehouse Administrative Center, 8115 Gatehouse Road, Suite 2600, in the Falls Church area of Fairfax County.
