Man shot after argument at Alexandria home

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man was shot after an argument at a residence in Alexandria late Friday night, according to Fairfax County police.

A 49-year-old man was visiting an acquaintance in the 8300 block of Brockham Drive shortly before midnight when police say the man was shot in the upper body. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say an argument occurred between the suspect and the victim prior to the shooting. The suspect is described by police as a black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and armed with a handgun.

Police do not believe this was a random act and continue to investigate the relationship between the two men. Charges are pending, according to police.
