ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA9) -- A man is wanted after police say he abducted and raped a woman in a hotel room in Alexandria on Nov. 16th.

The suspect is described by police as a black male, 6'0" to 6'1", 180 to 220 lbs.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., police say a 23-year-old woman let a man into her hotel room located in the 2700 block of Eisenhower Avenue. Police say the woman had met the man online.

Police say the suspect brandished a gun and raped the victim and forced her to leave Alexandria with him. It is possible the victim was also assaulted in another jurisdiction.

Anyone with information about this incident or the suspect is asked to contact Detective Amy Santiago with the Alexandria Police Department at 703.746.6289.
