Gavin Ohler of Arlington, Va. Wins Third Place in LearningRx National Presidents Day Contest

Gavin Ohler, 10, of Arlington, Va. was awarded third place in LearningRx’s annual Presidents Day contest, by reciting the U.S. Presidents in order while playing Hannon on the piano. The U.S. President recitation is a memory-enhancement exercise that helps LearningRx students increase their short-term and long-term memory. For more information, go to www.learningrx.com.

The contest is designed to encourage kids across the country to create videos that demonstrate the memory and focus skills they improved with LearningRx brain training.

"This is one of the first things we have students master in our brain training programs," said Maureen Loftus, executive director of LearningRx of Vienna, Va. "It quickly strengthens long-term memory, attention and other cognitive skills, and it also gives a big boost of self-confidence, because many of these kids have struggled in school for years and are now seeing a dramatic change in their grades and study habits,” said Loftus.

The national winner of this year’s LearningRx Presidents Day contest was 11-year-old John Mark of Frisco, Texas. He recited all 44 presidents while jumping on a pogo stick AND catching a “properly inflated football.” You can watch his video, Ohler’s video and the other video entries, here: www.learningrx.com/presidents-day-video-contest.
