Holiday Fun in Alexandria

Holiday Fun in Alexandria

Sometimes pretending you are a visitor in your own town is the best way to get to know new, fun things going on in your town. Today I paid a visit to the Visitor's Center in Historic Alexandria to find out some holiday happenings.

Here are some of the top things to do this holiday season:

1) Candlelight Tours 2010 - This is one of the oldest and most popular events in Old Town Alexandria. This Saturday, December 11 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. or Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. you can tour Gadsby's Tavern Museum, Carlyle House, Lee-Fendall House, and the Athenaeum. The tours are by candlelight with wonderful holiday music, costumed guides, and light refreshments. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $5 for children. Tickets are on sale at Gadsby's Tavern Museum located at 134 North Royal Street in Alexandria, VA.

Redskins baby Zoie's first trip to the dentist

A dental visit at an early age is a “well baby checkup” for the teeth.

Redskins linebacker, Lorenzo Alexander, brought in his daughter Zoie to show parents how to care for their children’s teeth.  Teaching children good dental habits at a young age reduces the fear of going to the dentist and creates a lifetime of healthy smiles.
