Regional Affordable Housing Expo

From Barbara Gordon:

The Northern Virginia Housing Opportunities Expo, the area’s first annual region-wide affordable housing expo, will be held on Saturday, June 25, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.  The Expo is hosted by the Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance, in cooperation with the counties of Arlington, Fairfax and Loudoun; the Cities of Alexandria and Falls Church; the Town of Herndon; Cardinal Bank, and George Mason Mortgage.  The event will be held at T.C. Williams High School, 3330 King St., Alexandria, VA 22301.

Expo 2011 will showcase both rental and homeownership opportunities for individuals and families across a spectrum of income levels.  Workshops will also be offered covering such topics as financial planning, credit repair, what buyers need to know before purchasing a foreclosure and improving livability through design and accessibility concepts.   In addition to workshops, approximately 100 vendors including area nonprofits, local governments and lending institutions will be available to provide attendees with a wealth of information on housing programs, financing, and rental and homeownership options.

The Northern Virginia Affordable Housing Alliance is a regional nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the economic and community benefits of a diversity of housing choices for all incomes.  Platinum sponsors of Expo 2011 include: Capital One; Chase; PNC Bank and the Virginia Housing and Development Authority.
