Here are some of the top things to do this holiday season:

1) Candlelight Tours 2010 - This is one of the oldest and most popular events in Old Town Alexandria. This Saturday, December 11 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. or Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. you can tour Gadsby's Tavern Museum, Carlyle House, Lee-Fendall House, and the Athenaeum. The tours are by candlelight with wonderful holiday music, costumed guides, and light refreshments. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $5 for children. The Art League’s Madison Annex in Old Town Alexandria was bustling with hundreds of people on Friday, December 3 for ArtFest, a holiday art event that had a little something for everyone – exhibits of two and three dimensional work, artist demos, jewelry and ceramic sales, fiber/wearable art, live music, food and more… and admission was free!

Music by Rew Smith Band kept the atmosphere lively as people wandered throughout the complex enjoying the various aspects of the event. The Jewelry and Ceramics Sales were a big hit throughout the weekend – the most successful holiday sales for The Art League to date.
