7th Annual Spring Wine Dinner at City Square Cafe Features Wines from New Zealand, Chile and Italy


City Square Café in Old Town Manassas, Va. is welcoming spring with their 7th annual Spring Wine Dinner on Wed., Mar. 23 at 7 p.m., featuring a four-course dinner with wines specially selected by Chef Robert Barolin. St. Patrick's Day at City Square Cafe Serves Homemade Corned Beef and Cabbage

City Square Café in Old Town Manassas, Va. is featuring an all- day celebration with an Irish pub bar and traditional corned beef and cabbage with parsley potatoes for $16.99 per person, not including tax and gratuity. The St. Patrick’s Day special will be featured on St. Patrick’s Day, Thurs., Mar. 17 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Live entertainment will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with traditional Irish performances. Alexandria Hosts 30th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 5

From the City of Alexandria:

On Saturday, March 5, the City of Alexandria and the Ballyshaners (Gaelic for “Old Towners”) will host the 30th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, in celebration of Irish-American heritage. The parade begins at King and Alfred Streets and follows a route east down King Street, past the reviewing stand at North Royal Street, and ends on the 100 block of North Lee Street between King and Cameron Streets. The parade will begin at 12:30 p.m., and is expected to conclude by 2:30 p.m.

The day’s festivities officially kick off with the Classic Car Show Competition at 10 a.m. in the 100 block of North Pitt Street. In addition, a Fun Dog Show begins at 10:30 a.m. in Market Square, 301 King Street and will conclude at noon.

ACT for Alexandria is a community foundation that aims at increasing local philanthropy and civic engagement.  ACTion Alexandria, is the newly launched citizen engagement website, that provides easy ways for community members to find ways to help out. It is a platform to connect individuals to nonprofit organizations.

Tracy Viselli, the Community Manager of ACTion Alexandria, said, “We want to get people out to nonprofits and experience things in the community they might not know about.” Viselli started working with ACT for Alexandria in July, and is excited about the new platform that launched on February 7.
