Manassas, Va. is in search of baseball teams and players for their Civil War period baseball games to be played in July. The event is part of a four-day sesquicentennial commemoration of the First Battle of Manassas, from Thurs., July 21 to Sun., July 24. Fourteen exhibition baseball games will be played at Jennie Dean Elementary school fields on Fri., July 22, Sat., July 23 and Sun., July 24 at 2 p.m., located at 9601 Prince William Street in Manassas. Baseball games will be played using 1860’s baseball rules.  The events are a part of Virginia’s statewide 150th Civil War Commemoration. Attendees of the baseball games can purchase a Manassas Ticket Package and ride a shuttle to the games for $20 per person, per day. The cost includes parking, shuttle rides to all seven sites, entrance into the Manassas Museum as well as a $5 Manassas “note” to be used for shopping or dining at participating merchants throughout Manassas, Va.

Manassas Civil War Commemoration Events are to be held Thurs., July 21 through Sun., July 24, 2011 to commemorate the Sesquicentennial of the American Civil War and the Battle of First Manassas (Bull Run) in Manassas, Va.
