T.C. Williams Students, Community to Celebrate Homecoming This Week

T.C. Williams High School invites the entire Alexandria community to celebrate Homecoming on Saturday, Oct. 29. Festivities will start at 12:15 p.m. with a parade that marches around the football field track. The big game, featuring the T.C. Williams Titans versus the Lee Lancers, will start at 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $4 until 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday in the T.C. Williams Athletic Office. Admission at the gate will cost $5.

The Homecoming Parade will feature the Homecoming Court, class floats, the T.C. Williams Marching Titans, cheerleaders and banners from T.C. Williams clubs. As part of a T.C. Williams initiative to build community among its feeder schools, Alexandria City Public Schools elementary school students wearing "Building Titan Pride K-12" T-shirts also will march in the parade.

Halftime during the football game will include a performance by the T.C. Williams Marching Titans and crowning of the Homecoming King, Queen, Princes and Princesses.

T.C. Williams students will celebrate Homecoming all week with daily themes: Pajama Palooza on Monday, Team Tuesday, Charity Hat Day on Wednesday, Thriller Thursday and Fired Up Friday. Lunchtime each day will feature games and class competitions. During a pep rally in the gym on Friday afternoon, the most spirited class will receive the Spirit Stick.

Student Homecoming activities on Friday, Oct. 28, will continue after school with a Tailgate on the front lawn/upper garage from 4:30-7:30 p.m., featuring a battle of the bands. Hot dogs, soft drinks and snacks will be sold. Clubs will be creating banners for the Homecoming Parade. The event will conclude with a bonfire with the football team from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

The Homecoming Dance, the final event of the special week, will take place from 8:30-11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, in the T.C. Williams cafeteria. Tickets must be purchased in advance in school during lunch periods, Oct. 24 through 29. Tickets purchased Oct. 24, 25 and 26 will cost $15 each. Tickets purchased Oct. 27 and 28 will cost $20 each). No tickets will be sold after lunch periods on Oct. 28.
