Occasionally Cake of Old Town Alexandria and Mount Vernon, Va. is giving away a FREE gingerbread man cookie for each person that drops off a new, unwrapped toy at their cake shops to support the Firefighters and Friends Holiday Toy Drive, from now until Dec. 14, 2012.  Call (703) 647-9638 or visit www.occasionallycake.com for more information.

Occasionally Cake will give out one free gingerbread man cookie per person for those that donate a toy. The Firefighters and Friends toy drive was founded in 1995 by Capt. Willie Bailey of Alexandria Fire Department, as a way to help families in need. They hope to help more than 4000 children in Northern Virginia this year.  Go to www.ffandfriends2therescue.org.

“We encourage all of our patrons to come out and help support our firefighters and those in need this holiday season,” said Sabrina Campbell, owner of Occasionally Cake in Alexandria and Mount Vernon, Va. stores. “Firefighters give so much of their time and are always there when we need them, it’s great to be able to help give back to the community,” said Campbell.

Both Alexandria cake boutiques offer more than 100 cake and gourmet cupcake flavors. Occasionally Cake is also renowned for their cake truffles. Instead of discarding leftover cake, it became the centerpiece of their cake truffles, and then dipped in Belgian chocolate.

Occasionally Cake opened its first cake shop in 2009 at 8859 Richmond Highway in Alexandria, Va. and Old Town Alexandria opened at 207 King Street in 2012.
