"A World At Work" - Bringing Culture East of the River

Art and culture in the District of Columbia are often thought to be exclusively west of the Anacostia River. Certainly, the vast majority of D.C.'s cultural attractions and events are located on the northwest side of the Sousa Bridge. But THEARC Theater has opened a door for the arts in the city's less heralded wards.

This Friday night SilentCodeFeatures will present a collection of short films entitled “A World At Work” at THEARC Theater. Producer and event organizer, Anthony Greene, states that “these films celebrate the diversity and artistry of the D.C. independent film scene.” The four shorts fill out a well-rounded program, offering drama, comedy, and experimental filmmaking.

The neighborhoods east of the river have been deprived of events that the neighborhoods in Northwest and Northeast have enjoyed for years. “A World At Work” is one step toward changing that. Come out Friday and support local filmmakers and THEARC Theater.
