Metropolitan School of the Arts of Alexandria, Va., recently expanded its Alexandria/Kingstowne, Va. campus to include its Academy and studio classes, upon closing its Lorton, Va. campus. Alexandria/Kingstowne MSA headquarters now provides newly renovated space for its Academy, studios and soon-to-be constructed Black Box theatre. It also welcomed four new board members, including: Jeff Lovett of Motley Fool of Alexandria, Va.; Cos Dimaggio of Tauri Group of Fairfax Station,Va.; Kusuma Aralere of Gainesville, Va.;  David Patterson of Tech Enabled Solutions in Leesburg, Va.; Jim Anderson of Fairfax Station, Va. of the Anderson Company; and Peter Van Aartrikj of the Aartrikj Company in Alexandria, Va. “We are thrilled to debut our new academy space in Kingstowne…we are growing and with that our space needed to evolve and expand,” said Melissa Dobbs, founder and executive director of Metropolitan School of the Arts of Alexandria, Va. “Having our studios, academy and black box theatre under one roof will help us create a more comprehensive and collaborative atmosphere among our students and instructors,” said Dobbs.  “We’re honored to have such a diverse and talented group of directors that represent not only different industries, but come from our neighboring counties in Loudoun and Prince William Counties; their support will help us continue to grow and expand our MSA academy,” said Dobbs.

Alexandria, Va.-based, Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA), a 501 (c) 3 organization, is the first Washington, D.C. area, private, secondary performing arts school, founded in 2013 by Melissa Dobbs. The MSA performing arts academy and studios in Alexandria, Va. have taught dance, music and theater to more than 10,000 students since 2001.
