Metropolitan Fine Arts Center (MFAC) Youth Tap Ensemble will perform at the 5th Annual DC Tap Festival All Star Concert at 8 p.m. on Sat., Mar. 23 at Duke Ellington Theatre, 3500 R Street., NW, Washington, D.C. All tickets can be purchased online at www.dctapfestival.com.

The 5th Annual DC Tap Festival All Star Concert, presented by Chloe and Maud Productions, will showcase Grammy-award winner, Mya and Emmy-award winner Jason Samuels Smith.

“This is our fifth year tap dancing at the DC Tap Festival and it’s always an extraordinary experience for my students to be part of an event that showcases the amazing talent of the elite tap dancers in the nation,” said Melissa Dobbs, founder and executive director of Metropolitan Fine Arts Center of Alexandria, Va. “There is one show that brings together the best tap dancers in the country to the Duke Ellington stage and we’re thrilled that our tap ensemble has been chosen to share the stage with these influential dancers,” said Dobbs.

Founder and executive director, Melissa Dobbs, was classically trained at Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC, George Mason University and the Royal Academy of Dance in London, where she became a registered teacher. Noted for its world-class instructors, MFAC offers high quality performing arts training in a ground breaking, holistic learning environment that cultivates creativity, builds community and empowers students.
