Rt 7 West At I-495 To Close Saturday Night | News

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WUSA) -- VDOT is alerting drivers that Leesburg Pike (Route 7) West at Interstate I-495 will be closed on Saturday night through Sunday morning.

The closure will begin Saturday at 9:30 p.m. and last until 9 a.m. on Sunday. Traffic will be detoured off Route 7 West to I-495 North. From there, traffic will take Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Road (Route 123) South to I-495 South back to Exit 47A, Route 7 West.

The Route 7 West exit ramp to I-495 South will be closed overnight, and traffic detoured onto I-495 North. Traffic will then be directed to take Exit 46A, Chain Bridge Road South and back to I-495 South.

VDOT is closing the roads to do work for the 495 Express Lanes Project. It warns if weather conditions prevent crews from doing work this weekend, the work will be rescheduled for Tuesday night, April 24.
