Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation Expands Area Adoption Events in 2011

Since 2001, Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation (LDCRF) has rescued over 15,000 dogs and cats from high-risk situations and placed them in permanent, loving homes. As 2011 begins and their 10th anniversary unfolds, the volunteer organization is hoping to place even more animals by expanding their reach to eight adoption events every weekend. The new weekly schedule, beginning Friday, December 31st, is as follows:

“We are expanding the number of our adoption events and locations because we believe that there are many families in the Washington, D.C., region who could provide excellent homes for dogs and cats in need, and we want to make it as easy as possible for those people to find us,” states Marcia Tiersky, President of the Board of Directors for LDCRF. “Thanks to our extremely supportive and extensive volunteer base, holding more events means we have the opportunity to give more of our animals the opportunity to meet the public and find their forever homes.”

With the added events, the group is looking for additional volunteers as well as new foster parents. To learn more about volunteer opportunities or the adoptable animals through LDCRF, visit their website at www.lostdogrescue.org.
