DC Housewives...in Alexandria

Circe Salon and Day Spa in Old Town Alexandria was visited by 3 stars of Bravo TV's DC Housewives this week. The new owners, Ellen and Richard Vlasak, who took ownership last May, have been working on creating a new twist on luxury for the salon. They have established relationships with hotels in the area to arrange limo services to and from the spa, as well as provide pre-service aromatic footbaths for customers.

Circe Salon and Day Spa is an upscale, luxury destination, and surely a place to spend quality beauty time. Vlasak said, "If the place burned down, I would still have excellent staff." With 27 full-time staff members, she believes it is not about the building, it is about the people and the experience that they provide.

The way in which Ellen and Richard Vlasak decided to take ownership of this salon is inspiring and displays how the Vlasak's are deeply grateful for their staff. When Ellen was recovering from cancer, she and her husband were secret shoppers and looking into different businesses to buy. She came into the salon one day with no hair because of her treatments. She thought, how will a salon react to a customer coming in with no hair? The staff acted superbly. They were completely gracious with her, pampered her, and did not treat her any differently from any other customer. That's when they knew this was their next venture.

Circe Salon and Day Spa also pride themselves on their clientele that is growing every day. Stacie Turner, from DC Housewives, had two different treatments today and Tareq and Michaele Salahi were in earlier this week. Watch the video to find out why Turner picks this salon over others.

The salon is located at 123 N. Washington Street in Old Town Alexandria. Stay tuned in the coming months for more expansion and lots of changes!
